TrafficView is the network protocol analyzer designed specifically for ITS network managers, field engineers and developers to capture and decode NTCIP/PMPP network traffic on most popular network topologies using a standard PC. TrafficView, run on a Windows XP system with appropriate network interface card(s) and creates a complete low cost real time network monitor and protocol analyzer.
TrafficView captures all network packets then filters, saves, decodes and displays the packets – all in real time. The line mode display provides the packets in a concise time ordered form while detail mode displays the contents of the packets interpreting and displaying each field of the packet.
TrafficView can capture packets from multiple network interfaces simultaneously making monitoring of all interfaces to/from a router, bridge or hub possible.
To determine packet latency and loss through a large network TrafficView also supports, with the optional TimeStamper, GPS provided time stamps and location. Packets may be collected simultaneously at multiple locations, such as in the central office and field cabinets, then merged. Accurate packet latency and packet loss may then be determined.
TrafficView is ideal for network engineers creating and testing new protocols and applications, including embedded systems and client/server applications. MIB symbol files allow for easy reading of network objects.
